Week 4-2
PE Olympics
To learn a little bit more about the history of the Olympics and some of the events we would typically do in PE, please watch this video
Take a moment to think about your heritage and which country or even Olympic ring you would represent if you were to compete. It is not uncommon to for athletes to compete for different countries than which they live. Please read this article to see why this happens. www.businessinsider.com/why-some-olympic-athletes-have-competed-for-multiple-countries-2018-2
After the video and reading, visit www.olympic.org/sports and take a look at different sports that would take place in the summer Olympics. Spend some time familiarizing yourself with the links and see some of the recent medal winners. Can you find who has won the most medals for men's basketball? What about the most medals for women's middleweight Judo?

Week 4-4
Staying Fit at Home
For this week, we're going to look at how you can stay fit while at home during the quarantine. Watch the short video below (most of these we covered in class) and see if you can complete the 10s beginner workout. This is just a basic bodyweight routine that you can do anywhere. If you are able to complete 1 full circuit of this workout, try adding more sets until you are challenged. If one time through is enough, wait a few days and challenge yourself again. Next week we will be looking to expand on home fitness.
Week 4-5
Finding Community Opportunities for Physical Fitness
This week we are going to take a look at some ideas for local events/sports. Spend some time looking through the websites linked and try to find something that could be of interest to you in the future. Obviously with the quarantine nothing should be available, but these are great tools to find something new or exciting down the road.
Below are some links that can be utilized to find these opportunities:

If your work has been completed, please use this time to go back to week 4-5 and review the links provided for groups or clubs that you may participate in once quarantine is over. You may find something that interests you such as a dodgeball or kickball club.

Week 4-8
Completion of Missing Assignments and Participation in Physical Activities
Students still missing either the persuasive essay from week 4-3, or the activity log from 4-6, this is your chance to catch up!
This week we are just looking at ways to continue and participate in physical fitness. Below is a video that I would like everyone to try and follow along with that shows a few different hamstring exercises and stretches. Based on our sit and reach tests this year, the vast majority of you can benefit from these!
